Alanco Announces $750,000 Contract with CR England for StarTrak’s ReeferTrak® Monitoring Service
(Scottsdale, AZ – January 05, 2011) – Alanco Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ALAN), today announced that its subsidiary StarTrak Systems has been awarded a five-year contract by CR England, Inc. to expand deployment of ReeferTrak® RT6000 monitoring equipment and logistical services for it’s intermodal fleet of refrigerated trailers and containers. The value of the monitoring service contract, including initial hardware purchases, is approximately $750,000.
StarTrak’s ReeferTrak® provides the most advanced reefer monitoring capabilities available in the transportation industry, featuring unique telematics functions and logistical systems integration, which enable CR England to optimize their intermodal refrigerated operations.
Zach England, Vice President, Intermodal Division, CR England Global Transportation, stated, “We at CR England Intermodal strive to bring the most value to our customers, and our relationship with StarTrak truly allows us to do that. We couldn’t be happier with the capabilities and service that StarTrak provides and look forward to continuing our partnership for years to come.”
Prior to selecting StarTrak’s solution, CR England performed an extensive evaluation of ReeferTrak® in comparison with other monitoring methods. CR England selected StarTrak’s ReeferTrak® based upon the system’s flexibility and distributed system architecture, which allows each monitoring device to independently determine critical events, remotely report, and accept action commands unique to refrigerated intermodal operations, including temperature performance monitoring, fuel management and trailer inventory visibility.
Tom Robinson, Executive Vice President of StarTrak commented, “In order to maximize CR England’s return on investment, the ReeferTrak® information provided to CR England is enhanced with specific logic functions integrated within CR England’s transportation management systems allowing information systems personnel from both companies to interact and optimize system utility, delivering superior, customer-focused performance for CR England’s Intermodal operations.”
Alanco Technologies, Inc. provides wireless monitoring and asset management solutions through its StarTrak Systems subsidiary. StarTrak Systems is the dominant provider of tracking, monitoring and control services to the refrigerated or “Reefer” segment of the transportation marketplace, enabling customers to increase efficiency and reduce costs of the refrigerated supply chain.
